Venue & Location To Be Announced soon, August 21 - 25, 2025
The CLL will look to make history in 2025 and win its first IIJL World U18 Lacrosse Championship as a program. The IIJL World U18 Lacrosse Championship provides players who are and will remain eighteen years old and younger for the calendar year in which the championship is played an opportunity to compete internationally. The 2025 IIJL World U18 Lacrosse Championship is open to players born in 2008 and 2009, players who will be turning 17 or 16 years of age in 2025. Additionally, players born in 2007 are eligible to play as "overagers" under the direction of each individual program (CLL) competing.
The history of the IIJL World U18 Lacrosse Championship dates back to 2016, then referred to as the 2016 IIJL U-17 World Lacrosse Challenge, and was played as a challenge series between Canada and Haudenosaunee at the 2016 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship. The championship made its formal return with the 2021 IIJL World U17 Lacrosse Championship. After deliberation, in 2022 the IIJL Member Nations voted to amend the title of the championship to the IIJL World U18 Lacrosse Championship, better reflecting the age classification. Finally, in 2025 the tournament will include 18 year old players as "overagers". A complete history of past champions and locations can be found here (click).
