Teams Settle In and Find Groove NLL Week 2
As teams settle in fans are starting to see where their favourite team needs some "fine tuning". In a short 18 Game Regular Season inefficiencies on both sides of the ball can hurt early on —even after Week 2 tough loses in the young 2024-25 National Lacrosse League (NLL) season can have major impact in the final standings.
Colorado Mammoth 15 - Las Vegas Desert Dogs 9
All of our Alumni action was on the defensive end of the ball in the Mammoth, Desert Dogs match-up. Sean Kriwokon ('21) continued his strong defensive play helping to keep Vegas under 10 goals —no stat lines, quiet but efficient. For the Desert Dogs Landon Kells ('19, '21) made 33 Saves in his 56:32 Minutes well played, along with Jake Saunders ('18) 3 Loose Balls on defence. But lack of offence was the story for the Desert Dogs.

Albany FireWolves 15 - Toronto Rock 4
Speaking of lack of offence, the Rock struggles again this week as the FireWolves found their scoring grove. On defence for the Rock Chris Weier ('19) picked up 2 Penalty Minutes, 4 Loose Balls, 1 Blocked Shot, and 1 Caused Turn Over. This game also marks the first lacrosse game played at Paramount Fine Foods Centre since the 2019 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship where Canada defeated the Haudenosaunee 13-10 in the Gold Medal Game. A game that feature many former and current NLL players.
Georgia Swarm 13 - San Diego Seals 12 (OT)
In the most exciting game of the week the Swarm and Seals battled for 60 minutes and needed overtime. For the Seals Matthew Wright ('18, '21) contributed on defence and in transition, recording 1 Shot on Goal and picked up 5 Loose Balls. For the Swarm Seth Van Schepen ('19) helped in the win with 2 Assists, 4 Loose Balls, and 1 Caused Turn-Over.
